Secrets of the swamp - Guided and commented tour of the Hortillonnages on electric boat
Welcoming people with disabilities
I offer outings and guided tours of the Amiens floating gardens (hortillonnages) specially designed for people with disabilities. My goal is to help everyone discover the unique beauty of this exceptional site in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Each tour is designed so that everyone can fully enjoy this natural escape.
Unfortunately, the site's accessibility does not allow me to accommodate wheelchair users on board, but I adapt each visit according to the type of disability:
- For deaf or hard-of-hearing people, I provide visual aids, including photos representing the site's history, as well as a written description detailing the history of the market gardens. I also offer images illustrating the local flora and fauna.
- For visually impaired or blind people, I strive to provide detailed descriptions of the environment, mentioning sounds, smells, and every detail of the fauna and flora, so that the discovery is immersive through the senses.
- For people with intellectual disabilities, I simplify the visit by popularizing it, using accessible language and always with appropriate visual aids.
I make sure that each visit is accessible and comfortable, allowing everyone to experience the unique magic of this place.
